The Engineering and Science Admissions Test
ESAT
The Engineering and Science Admissions Test is sat by thousands of students every year as part of their application process for university. This includes Cambridge, Oxford and a number of other universities.
The official ESAT website has everything you need to know about sitting the tests. This includes how to register, access arrangements, what to expect on the day and what happens afterwards.
Test Format
You will sit three tests, each of which consists of 27 multiple-choice questions with a time limit of 40 minutes.
Everyone sits Maths 1. The remaining two tests depend on the course you are applying for. Generally, if you are doing engineering or physics, then this will include Maths 2 and the Physics test.
No calculators are allowed during the test.
